Safety Innovation Awards Winner

Blundstone, in conjunction with Centennial Coal, has taken first place at the highly coveted NSW Minerals Council Health and Safety Innovation Awards.

Miners from across the state's mining regions showcased some of the best new examples of leading edge practices, products and systems that help give our mining industry its world class health and safety record.    But it was Blundstone's new fit for purpose mining boot that took out the top honours for innovation.

Rob Regan, Director of Mine Safety Operations for the NSW Department of Resources and Energy, acknowledge that the new boot has fundamentally changed the way a mining boot is made.

With the assistance and support of Centennial Coal, Blundstone has designed and tested a new generation boot that provides high levels of ankle support and stability control whilst being extremely comfortable and fully waterproof.

Working directly with the miners experiencing first hand the environment they operate in, enabled Blundstone designers to create a purpose built boot that stands up to the harshest of conditions, whilst addressing an age old health and safety problem.

Blundstone's new 980 Underground mining boot availability is currently limited as it is hot off the production line and proving very popular. All enquiries are welcome, please contact Dan Saylor on email dsaylor@blundstone.com for further information.
