Max Madsen
Max Madsen is a Danish illustrator, photographer and filmmaker who uses his art to tell stories—including his own.
Max has been drawing ever since he was old enough to hold a pen. In fact, he used to draw everywhere, all the time—on walls, on napkins and even on paper tablecloths in restaurants.
I’ve realized that what I love about drawing, photography and filmmaking is that they’re all about taking a thought and putting it into existence - turning an idea into something that you can see in front of you and hold in your hand.
After his love of illustration was firmly established, his father bought him a camera and it snowballed from there. Max also fell in love with photography and how it allowed him to engage with the outdoors.
His passion for photography pushed him to discover places he would never have found otherwise and allowed him to rediscover places he had been many times before, experiencing them with completely new eyes.
Max’s creativity knows no bounds—slowly but surely, photography turned into filmmaking. Now he lives life at 24 frames a second, making films for a living.
What Max loves about drawing, photography and filmmaking is that they’re all about taking a thought and putting it into existence—turning an idea into something that you can see in front of you and hold in your hand. Each medium allows you to tell a story.
And nothing beats a good story.
